Sounds Bored

Sounds Bored was created because some friends and I were looking for an easy way to play sounds for our TTRPG games.  The result of that effort is this. A simple, no-frills sound player and management tool that lets you focus on the feeling of the moment rather than digging through endless menus trying to find the right sound.

We have found it immensely useful and satisfying and I hope you do too.

Features

• Scene-based organization — group your sound sources into scenes and switch between them instantly
• Multiple layers per pad — each pad can hold multiple independent sound layers, all firing simultaneously on trigger
• Dynamic sound selection. Layers can be configured to play one or many sounds, either from a manually selected group, a predefined "set", or using tag selectors.
• Sounds in a layer can be configured to play all at once, sequentially, or in a random order
• Playback modes — choose one-shot, hold, or loop behavior per layer
• Retrigger control. Configure what happens when a layer is triggered while already playing (restart, continue, stop, or advance)
• Auto-discovering sound library — drop audio files into your project folder and they appear automatically
• Web audio import. Download audio directly from the web into your library
• Per-layer volume control — fine-tune the mix without leaving the app
• Auto-save. Your project is saved automatically as you work
